House Rules
No smoking, vaping or drinking alcoholic beverages anywhere inside the building. No incense or open flames of any sort are permitted.
Renters may NEVER leave any equipment, props, costumes, or personal belongings anywhere in the studio when not actively renting the studio.
Renters are expected to treat house equipment with care and respect
Each renter assumes responsibility for the security of the space during each rental period. Renters are required to keep the doors locked during their rental period and return the space to a secure state upon leaving by ensuring everyone in their party has left the premises and locking all doors.
We Appreciate Your Business!
We’ve worked our tails off to build a comfortable, well-equipped photo studio. We are a new business, and we are still learning as we go. While we will meet and interact with most of you, we hope that you enjoy your experience and our studio helped clear your mind of other distractions and allowed you to focus on your photography and create great results. We’d love to hear from you and if you’re willing to share, we’d love to see some of your results. Be aware that we may choose to post the photos yo share in our Photo Gallery. Legal Stuff
This contract represents a legally binding arrangement between the PhotoSynthesis Studio (Spartan by Design LLC), and the “Renter” as named in the booking form. By processing a payment to rent the PhotoSynthesis Studio, the renter agrees to the following terms, stipulations, and rules set forth by this website, and all information contained herein. It is the responsibility of the renter to be familiar with, understand, and abide by all house rules, payment requirements, and cancellation policy.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change and emergencies can arise. Therefore our generous cancellation policy allows cancellation up to 72 hours before the beginning of the scheduled studio time with a full refund. Between 72 and 24 hours, we will refund 50% of the rental amount. No refund on cancellations under 24 hours. Please fill out the form below and allow 48 hours for refunds to be processed.

Your host at PhotoSynthesis is long-time Bellingham Resident and legendary Pirate Captain, Marc Ravaris. What does my background have to do with operating a photo studio you might ask? The brief history is really pretty simple. The bright, centrally located space came available and and also being the owner of the business next door, El Capitan’s, I jumped at the opportunity to create this new and exciting space for photographers of all backgrounds and skill levels. Its central location make it close to all the ameneties offered in downtown Bellingham, as well as El Capitan’s restuarant and taproom, located right next door.
